Job Purpose

To support the development of functional skills and additional learning needs in the workplace by facilitating ALS support & functional skills through mainly online learning and face to face delivery in English, Maths & ICT. To manage and co-ordinate all functional skills for the apprenticeship programmes recording outcomes and planning assessment including internal quality assurance in line with the Skern Training and Skills and awarding bodies policy.

Key Responsibilities

• To support for learners with Additional Learning Support (ALS) requirements, working closely with the Education & Apprenticeship Manager & delivery teams to ensure high quality & compliance.
• Support, deliver and manage the training requirements for apprentices in Math, English, ICT and additional learner support.
• Support the employer and apprenticeship training team in the programming of training.
• Develop and manage resources to support learning.
• Produce reports for stakeholders to ensure learner progress is monitored.
• Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement processes within Skern Training and Skills.

Essential Criteria

• The ability to demonstrate an understanding of blended approaches to learning through a range of teaching, coaching, facilitation and assessment methods.
• Trained/Qualified in ALS needs to an appropriate level for apprenticeships
• Have experience of working within a range of different sectors (preferable Outdoor Education, Leadership and Management or Hospitality sectors)
• Hold a recognised teacher / training qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent).
• Hold an assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA, D32, D33 or equivalent).
• GCSEs English and Maths (C or above or key skills equivalent).
• A strong commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and evidence of own ongoing CPD.
• Efficient time management & organisational skills
• Knowledge of the OFSTED EIF
