Job Purpose

Responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient HR administration service to internal and external customers. Ensuring that the service provided by the HR Shared Service team is considered the best by all colleagues.

First line for telephone and email enquiries and processing all administration of the employee life cycle events including on boarding, off-boarding, contract preparation and amendments, updating and maintaining the HR Information Systems, payroll, references, DBS and right to work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the HR Shared Service Specialist by helping to provide a comprehensive HR shared service and ensure high quality delivery to all stakeholders.
• The first point of contact for all colleague queries, ensuring that they are dealt with accurately, efficiently and confidentially
• Provide an efficient, proactive HR communication/administration service in line with requirements
• Respond to queries via the HR Shared Service email inbox in a timely manner, escalating when required
• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external colleagues and customers via telephone, email, letter and face to face, building positive relationships by investigating, responding to issues and queries where possible or escalating to the HRSS Specialist as appropriate
• Build good relationships working together with payroll/finance/L&D/Resourcing teams to share information accurately, and streamline processes by having regular meetings and open discussion
• Legal compliance, DBS, right to work and employee references

Essential Criteria

• Minimum GCSE English & Maths Grade C or equivalent qualification
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, intermediate level word and excel and HR Information Systems.
• Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented and fast pace environment.
• Discretion and confidentiality are essential
• An ability to stay calm under pressure

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience of working in Education
• NVQ L3 in Administration or HR or equivalent experience
• Aspiration to develop professionally within HR
